The Yolo County Fair, California's largest free-admission fair, is held annually in August at the Yolo County Fairgrounds. It has midway rides and games, fair food, farm animals, kids' activities, musical entertainment, and an auto destruction derby. Also the home of Yolo Idol, yolo county's version of American Idol. The contest is open to singer hopefuls residing in Yolo county.
