In 1996, a small group of family farmers got together and opened The Woodland Farmer's Market in the parking lot of the County Fair Mall. But after 11 years at this location, with the support of many city agencies, The Woodland Farmer's Market moved to the shady, family friendly Freeman Park on Main St. between 4th and 6th streets. This new location features a big white gazebo for performances, a playground perfect for kids and plenty of nearby street parking.

The Woodland Farmer's Market is a summer season only market and features only the highest quality, locally grown produce. In addition to gorgeous fruits and vegetables, the market offers eggs, artisan breads, handcrafts, entertainment and more. All items are very reasonably priced and in many cases, offer shoppers big savings. The Woodland Farmer's Market also accepts WIC program vouchers.

The Woodland Farmer's Market is the hub of community where you can meet new friends, say hello to old ones, and take part in fun activities for the whole family. The Woodland Farmer's Market is only for the summer season- so don't miss out on the fun!

2008-06-02 20:52:55   I attended the grand opening last Saturday (5/31) and really enjoyed it. Freeman Park is a much better location for the market — shady and green, easy parking, and with a playground adjacent. I felt completely comfortable letting my kids run around and have fun while I did my produce shopping. I got there around 11 a.m. and was surprised to find that most of the stalls were already sold out! Judging from that I'd say there is a genuine demand for a local farmer's market. Please make a point of going, and get there early so you don't miss out on the good stuff! —AmyWilson
