The
Sacramento Valley Historical Railroad is a historical train organization in Woodland. The group was formed as the "Friends of the 1233" in 1982, after the SP 1233 locomotive that was on display in the Yolo County Fairgrounds since 1957 that the group would restore. The train first ran again at the Fair in 1989 and it was decided to donate it to the Yolo Shortline Railroad where further restoration could be performed and it could go into operation. In 1995 it was moved to the Yolo Shortline yard in 1995. The Sacramento Valley Historical Railroad now maintains the Train Station.
