Chase bank is the second largest bank in the U.S. by assets. This branch was formerly a Washington Mutual. JPMorgan Chase bought WaMu in late 2008 and rebranded all California branches to Chase in March of 2009.
On October 25 2009, all WaMu accounts finally switched over to Chase. WaMu Free Checking is now called Chase Free Extra Checking. Chase created this account so that WaMu customers can still keep the benefits of Free Checking. It is still fee free just like WaMu free checking. You have to make a deposit or withdrawal every six months to avoid any fees. WaMu Online Savings accounts have been converted to Chase Plus Savings accounts with the monthly fee waived for now.
Chase also offers a Free Chase College Checking account for new customers who are students.
This bank features an ATM that is both drive up and walk up accessible.
